AMAZING! I snagged a used cluster with working trip computer LCD!
Previously I had looked for used A4 clusters for a working trip comp LCD - I went through about 5-6 of them from junk yards/parts stores. Well...I got one today and it works like a charm! I had just about given up hope, as all the ones I got before were bad to varying degrees. I didn't think working ones existed anymore! Very happy! I stopped searching for used clusters about 2 years ago but just started up again only because a friend of mine has an A4 with nearly 100k miles and a perfectly working cluster, so I figured there HAS to be a good working one out there somewhere.

Re: What about mileage? How are you going to program that in?
Yeah...that is the only issue. My car has 42k, and the replacement one is 55k. I actually just earlier this week sent in my cluster to DNASpeedometers. They quoted me $275 for the repair and I thought it was a good price. I got the used cluster for $100 plus $20 shipping, shipping was expensive but I went with it anyways. So I'll have my original cluster back next week, and I'm going to keep the used one on hand just in case/as a backup. I'll hit 55k miles eventually too, so that's another bonus.
Now I read a post or two about people swapping the mileage chip from one cluster to another, but honestly I'm just not sure how they did that - I'm pretty techie and also very familiar with these clusters and I don't see a way to do that.

Be careful with odomoters, it's a Felony to tamper with one or otherwise misreprestent the actual...
mileage of a vehicle. If you were to sell the vehicle, be sure to inform the prospective buyer that the odometer has been replaced and what the actual mileage should be.
