Default another cat/turbo victim..

luckily this has happened to other people on here first. So I already know its fixable and I won't hear **** from the muffler shop. I was visiting Chattanooga, TN and I let my wifey drive. Some of the roads were jacked and at one piont there was a bump that raised high enough to hit my downpipe. The car is lowered. It must of hit hard enough to crack the flange where the turbo meets the cat. It took about another 20 minutes on the highway to finally break loose. !#(*#&@$(, the car sounds like a straight up hoopty. It's so sad to here the car that way. Anyone know about how many hours of labor that it should take to fix it?

Default Not much time to weld it back up.

But it does take some time to actually get the cat out of the car to have someone weld it.

Exactly, removing/replacing the cat is all the labor.....maybe 2 hrs, if not familiar with Audi.

Default Likely so...

At least, I would assume so if approaching the dealer about this....and if they do decide to cover it, be surprised! :-) Good luck

Default thanks, I took to the same shop that did my exhaust, b/c it was close and I didn't have

to hear my poor girl sounding so sick for so long. it's the nastiest hoopty sound I've ever heard on a car. it is funny hearing the turbo whistle above the rumbling gurle of a broke '60 something vw beetle.
