Default Anti-sieze on spark plugs?

For those that installed your own plugs, did you use anti-sieze on the threads prior to the install?

I didn't and I'm starting to think I should have.

Default Yup, a little of the hi temp copper stuff.

Works great. Stuck plugs are never fun.

Default I don't know what I was thinking.....

....didn't even think of it during the initial install. Used the anti-sieze on my buddy's TT lug bolts this weekend after I changed his brake pads and all of a sudden it dawned on me that I should have used some on my plugs.

Default It's not too late, pull them out and put some on.

Not too much now, just a very thin coating. I use the copper anti sieze on everything. The silver stuff is nasty.

Default I've got the silver stuff....

...it is pretty messy. According to Permatex's site, the stuff I have is good for -60°F to 1600°F while the copper anti-sieze is good for -30°F to 1800°. So it sounds like the stuff I have is fine.

Default Yes, you will be fine. Just messier like you said.

I used to use the silver stuff religously, but I finally got tired of the reisdue. On plugs though, it is not as bad because you are using only a little bit.

I use the silver stuff in my cars and my sportbike..its fine. Make sure you don't overtighten the plugs, alot of people do that. Its amazing on how low the amount of torque is required for plugs.

Default I think James R. posted 22 ft.-lbs. before for the plugs, and....

7 ft.-lbs. for the coil-pack bolts...does that sound correct?

Sure. Without my CD here at work, I can't verify, but it sounds good.

Default Found a post that mentions 22 ft.-lbs. as proper torque for plugs.....
