Default Any idea what it means when ABS light comes on

well, short of having a vag tool to diagnose the problem. Does it mean the ABS module is faulty. Any other possibilities?
could connection be bad. This ABS light on the dash doesn't appear immediately after starting up. Only several minutes after.

btw, This car is a 2001 A4 1.8fwd with a tip tranny. Had this appear in my S4 several years back. It was a faulty ABS control unit.

Thanks in advance.

Module ,wiring or sensor ...you need to use OBD2 (VAG-COM) to diagnose

Default When the ABS light comes on...

it's time to use VagCom. Otherwise, you're just shooting in the dark. Chances are though, the ABS module is dead. It's become very cheap to replace it though nowadays. I don't know how much you spent having the S4 abs module repaired but I did it for my A4 a month ago for about $ 150.00, including shipping, from BBA remanufacturing.

Default There is a problem in the ABS system.

That's all you know without some diagnostics.
