Any of you crazy 96-99.5 owners upgrade your cluster to the newer style?

Re: Well, I know 96-97 and 98.5 are completely different.
OK here's the breakdown:
Connectors for 96,97 and some early 98s are same.
Connectors for 98 to 99.5 are the same. Then 2000+ B5s use different connectors (actually its just the center connector for the trip computer that is different).
I don't know what year your car is but in short you cannot put in an S4 cluster unless you get a german one up to 99.5

So, if I read your post correctly....
(BTW...I have a 98.5 manual A4)
The 2000+ will fit and the connectors will fit with the exception of the trip computer wiring? Seeing as though I dont need the trip computer....will everything else work OK?? Hmm...guess I should start searching for a German cluster. Im not sure if Im cool with reading in Km per hour though. =(
