Anybody have an opinion on the Split Second Boost Timer?

ok guys!!!
Everytime I try to sell my BCS you guys have to tell people it sucks.
That's just not true!!!!
It's a good product and much cheaper than chipping and after being a driver of both the BCS and the chip I would say that the BCS has MUCH MORE power/cost than the chip, but the chip is a much smoother and elegant type of power.
Now, stop BCS bashing!!!

being the dude who had both chip and BCS
The BCS has more power/$
It's not as refined as a chip, but it's a good thing to do if you need to spend little $ and be able to remove it VERY EASILY.
To remove a chip require any of:
- Buying a socketed Wett (expensive)
- Buying another ECU (expensive)
- Having EMCS and faultcode erase (expensive)
The BCS is a GOOD solution, just not as elegant as a chip.

I'm sticking to my opinion on this one.
There are too many variables that the BCS *doesn't* address that a chip does. Reading the posts from you when you had it only strengthens my feelings about it vs. chipping. I believe you were having incorrect boost readings, etc.? It would also have been interesting to see it run with a VAG hooked up with it to see requested vs. actual boost, air/fuel numbers etc.
I only agree with your "good for the money" point to a small degree; it may be cheap and get you a few extra ponies, but at what cost? Hopefully you wouldn't choose a doctor for major surgery because his fees are low.
Dr. Nick Riviera....kidney transplants for $19.95!
