Default Anyone done their own boost gauge install in center vent?

I did a google search and saw someone on audizine did it with a vdo gauge and want to do it but i'm not sure how they mounted the holder in there. just looking for some more info on how to do it but it looked really clean, better than the awe one to me.

Default I did....

Buy a piece of plexi glass/lexan and cut it to fit. Spray paint the back of it black and put it in the vent hole. You can do a friction fit or some sort of adhesive. It should cost around 5 bux if you have the appropriate dremel bits already.

Default 2nd. i bought the plexi already cut since i didnt have the tools/patience to do it myself from a guy

named overspun on audizine. i dont think he makes them anymore but its worth a look. mine just sits in the vent with no adhesive since it was a very clean fit. i like the look almost as much as the AWE kit and it was 200 dollars cheaper

Default so how did you get the holder to stay there, is it just a tight fit?

i think the vdo screws into the holder, but i haven't gotten mine yet. whats the best way to seat that tightly

Default I just made a small template of the gauge...

and marked it out on the vent then just cut out the sections. It has yet to fall out or even move. It's just trial and error. Take it slow and try and cut on the side of the marks closest to the center. If the gauge doesn't fit look where it's hitting and grind down that part of the vent some more.
