anyone had this problem with their APR chip?
i got my APR chip about 3500 miles ago. for the first few months, everything was great. lots more noticable acceleration and i loved hearing the tubro spooling up. after these months, things changed a little and it felt like the car was having good days and normal days where a good day was whipping my head against my headrest while hearing the screaming turbo during hard acceleration. Normal days felt like as if the chip was not running up to par and i could rarely hear the turbo spooling. Now, all my driving days are "normal" and i only hear the turbo spooling when i accelerate in low RPMs in high gears. there isn't really any head snapping pep like there used to be. Am i just becoming spoiled or has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? i'm thinking of disconnecting and reconnecting my ECU this weekend to see if that helps. hopefully it will. what should i do?

Call APR ASAP, they can probably fix the problem

Turn off your air conditioner (more)
I notice the same thing with my GIAC chip, and I basically chalk it up to the fact that I am just getting used to the feel of the car with the chip.
Today I went to accelerate from a traffic light, and the car hesitated. But that was the fault of the air conditioner. The car is plenty quick without the AC.
Now if you put a stopwatch or better yet a GTech to your car, and you actually do have varying degrees of performance, then you should contact APR.
But I am willing to bet that you are just getting used to the performance. If that's the case, put your stock ECU back in for a few days. And when you return to the APR ECU, the love affair will start all over again. :-)

You may find it interesting that the AC compressor on the S4 automatically switches off under WOT...
...I guess that way you can never say "yeah, well I could have beat 'xxx' if I'd turned the AC off". I don't think it's instantaneous, however, as you do have to be on the pedal for a little while first.

Same on MY2000 1.8T with DBW throttle??
I just passed my break-in mileage, so I haven't driven enough under WOT to say for sure, but I *think* I've noticed at least a drop in the fan speed whn I nail the throttle. How can you tell if the compressor shuts off (other than stying in WOT for long enough to feel hotter ;-)
I imagine this would be easy for Audi to do with DBW throttles.<p>'00 1.8TQS Tip, no chip (yet...)
