Anyone try clutch-less shifting on the A4? Wondering about technique/uses.

all the time!
Honestly not a hard thing to do. Once you learn the rpm for a given gear at a certain speed all you do is blip the . Just by driving the car for 2 years I know the how the gears are spaced so well that I can shift in my sleep. Try it with the higher gears when you are learning. Its easier cause everything is spinning slower. As you are coming out of 3rd at 4000 lift off the throttle.. let the shifter fall into neutral, and when the rpm falls to 3100 or so put pressure on the gate to 4th gear. You can put pressure on it...It won't go in unless the tranny is synched up with the road speed. As soon as the reves are matched it will fall right into fouth. I do it with downshifts all the time too. Just gotta know your gear ratios and how fast the crank will spin in a given gear at whatever your speed is. Basically stick with 3rd 4th and 5th and it will be easy as pie.
