Default APR Stage 1 ECU

Are there any draw backs, I have read alot of info and found a local distributor that can do it for me. Just looking for the downside. I have to imagine that something is comprimised.

Thoughts?

Default drawbacks? downside?

im unsure what you are lookin for...

unless you are still in warranty, there are no drawbacks... unless a faster car with better gas mileage is bad?

Default haha, there could be more . . .

If you are interested in a K04 kit later on in life, Im not sure than an APR chip is the best programing to have for it (I have recently emailed them and asked if they offered K04 programing (I know that they had a short lived K04 kit) and I havent heard back yet (yay ARP).

So if you go with another company that Has K04 programing you may get a discount when the time comes.

Other than that, Go for it. Their main headquarters are in my home town and they are good people, always helpful (when you can get a hold of them)

good luck with the chip man

(at this point I am often corrected on many aspects of my post)

Default I loved mine until

it went "bad". I think there must have been corrosion on the solder or something. My ECU would totally wig out. Car would shut off while driving, etc. I had the chip about 50K miles or so. This is definitely not common. I was a little disapointed when I never got email back from APR regarding questions. I am a n00b and they just didn't want to deal with me.

Chip was very smooth. I miss it.
