Default Audi A4 B5 Automatic transmission problems

Hello, I'm having an Audi A4 B5 1997 with the ADR engine. Its an automatic car and I had its gearbox replaced few months back. The ATF and filter was also changed. At the moment the car sometimes runs ok on flat roads but mostly gear changes are not very smooth. When climbing hills it's worse, the car revs upto 4000 rpm to change to the next gear.

I have got myself a VAG KKL cable and a vgate scanner to scan the errors and I'm getting this error code 18020 "engine control module incorrectly coded :1612 static -no". (picture is attached )

It has a drive by cable throttle body and I have a doubt that this issue has something to do with the throttle body. I have also got my throttle body aligned but the issue is still same. Is there any fix to this issue or maybe a way to disable throttle detection while climbing hills.

Thanks in advance

I have a 1998 A4 Quatro B5 with a 1.8L and reverse went out, just revs when placed in gear. It does appear to be in limp mode, prndsl is not highlighted. I have learned here the problem is probably the TCM. I removed it and found the floorboard totally wet. I have also learned that this could be a A/C drain problem. My questions are, 1: when I plug in VCDS lite what kind of code should I expect to see if the TCM is bad, and 2: Where do I locate the A/C drain to clear a clog? I have never worked on Audis before so this is all new to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check to see if your ECU is coded correctly. Make sure to save original code as backup.

Engine control module coding
XX000 - Country/emission
00= . 01= . 02= . 03= . 04=EU2/D3. 05=EU3/norm. 06=USA . 07= . 11=EU4. 16=USA. 26= .
00X00 - Drive/additional functions
0=Front wheel drive w/out TCS ESP.
2=Four wheel drive w/out TCS ESP.
5=Front wheel drive with TCS ESP.
7=Four wheel drive with TCS ESP.
000X0 - Gearbox
0=5 speed HS.
3=Auto 01N.
5=Auto 01V (Tiptronic).
0000X - Vehicle type
1=B class (e.g. Passat/Audi A4).

Hey thanks for sharing this configuration. It managed to solve the problem to some extent with this. The car shifts much smoother now, however there are instances where there is a jerk when changing. Got any suggestions to fix that?

Sorry. Don't know.
Could be faulty ECU due to water, dirty trans, or trans damage from incorrectly coded ECU.
