Avant Vertical Cargo Net

Avant Vertical Cargo Net
My dealer told me the A4 Avant comes with the same vertical cargo net as the A6. This seems good as we have a dog. Tho I've not seen it in any lot-cars but I didn't open up all the boxes in the trunk either.
Some reading of the archives disagrees with this. It's an option and a $300 option at that!
The only refrence to it as an option was at clairparts.com. What they show is this big tube like thing with netting. Oh, it's not for use with sideguard bags either (standard on '01.5).
I'm thinking of the window shade style. There seems to be mounting points already built into the interior, both back of the seats as well as the roof.
Can anyone confirm/deny that it's still an option? Is the window shade one also $300?
Thanks!

Not included.
A vertical cargo net was *not* included with my '01 Avant but all the attachment points are there. A horizontal net was included, ie, a net to secure objects to the floor.
I can't help with price and availability of the vertical net. Sorry.

Re: Avant Vertical Cargo Net
My 01 and 00 both came with one. If you need one e-mail me and maybe we can work something out. I kept the one from my 00 when I gave it back. Also my 00 came with a nice rear cargo area carpet matt that has Avant embroidered in it . My 01 did not. I kept that also.

Been standard on euro A4/S4 Avants for a while, is coming standard with the US S4 & not sure about
the 2001.5 A4's though. 99.5 & up Avants have the brackets that attach to the net, (4 on top of headliner, 2 on pass, 2 in rear cargo area) not sure about the 99, but the 98 Avants don't have the brackets.Avants with brackets can buy the S4 Avant liner with net, tried to get a Euro through Clair a long time ago, it was like $350, major bandwidth for the unruly Perro, although using it for one of its intended purposes,(keeping cargo from entering the cockpit area), does make safety sense too. Why its standard on the Euros & not here, but yet we have all the hardware for it, is another ingenious Audi decision. OK, now for a wee bit of venting. Hello Audi, like one of the major selling points of the Avant is the xtra storage area, be it for cargo or especially dogs, you know the kind that every new add campaign is using to make their commercials cute, including you. I think you should stop offering us that hideous tubed net partition monster contraption & make available @ a RESPECTABLE PRICE (should be free already), the one the Euros & US bound S4 Avants have. OK sorry if I ran long.

my 2001....
came with the floor mat (which is in the box in the tailgate area of the cars on the lot)(the floor net is in a bag).
the mounting points, there are 4, are all there. They are placed such that you can place the net behind the rear seat or behind the driver if you have the seats folded down.
That is an interesting point about the sidegaurd airbags, I hadn't thought of that. I wanted to get the net, but at $300, I don't need it... especially as that is half a chip!
