best way to bleed coolant lines? I've STFA and seen several methods discussed...

Default best way to bleed coolant lines? I've STFA and seen several methods discussed...

anyone who's got an opinion one way or the other?

Default Best way is the way the dealers do it. They have an attachment that replaces the coolant resevoir

cap. It takes just a few seconds to pull off any excess air. .... Second best, IMO is to use the bleed hole while holding the coolant res. as high as possible.

Default They force the coolant using pressure.. I've seen more than one older radiator blow up this way...

with a wee bit too much pressure... oops. I'd hate to pop the heater core by accident.. But yeah, any time you can pressure bleed the coolant, you're gonna have a much easier time than the 'old fashioned' way...

I've never had any problem from just using the bleeder hole on the heater core line.
