Default Bosch wiper blade inserts NLA!!!

I need new inserts, right? So I go to Pepboys and Autozone and to my HORROR, they no longer carry just the inserts! What's up with that??? I'm trying to find Bosch's email address right now! Anybody else run into this?

Default I think you're right. I was going to buy a pair of 21" BOSCH inserts and cut the other side down...

I guess I can't now! Thanks Bosch or whoever! It's another communist plot!

Default Yeah, daphne and PaJohn were talking about this on the S4 forum the other day.

daphne recommended another blade (silblade). Do a google search to find the website (I think it's silblade.com).

Isn't 22" the proper length for driver's side and 21" for passenger's side?

Default wow, $19 per blade. but if they don't freeze up in winter, they'd be worth it I guess.

Anyone tested them in snow/ice yet?

Default You didn't read what I typed yesterday, did you?

A standard rubber blade should not freeze in the winter. If it does, 99% of the time, the problem is snow and ice jamming up the frame of the wiper blade. The only way to prevent that is to get a dedicated winter blade that has a rubber boot over the frame to prevent snow and ice from lodging itself in there.

Buying silcone blades will not prevent your blades from freezing up, because that isn't the problem to begin with.

Default I did read what you typed, but I also read....

this on silblade's website:

http://www.silblade.com/compare_ultrasil.cfm?bladetype=ultrasilblade

Where it says in the comparo table that it "sheds ice". But I suppose that's just marketing...
