Default bose audio question

I have the crutchfield adapter that gives you RCA outs for the bose headunit, if i use it does it mean i lose the display portion that tells me what track number on on etc?

thanks!

Default I doubt it - I'm sure the harness just........

grabs the raw pre-out leads and runs into a RCA connection. It shouldn't affect the infobus route at all.

Yeah, but I imagine the adapter passes the infobus through to the trip comp.

Default I think so - the harness should just replace the harness that's on the car.

You'd just clip off the old one, and put the new one on, reconnecting all teh wires in the appropriate places. The tripcomp-radio info would still get hooked up again, and the old preouts would now go to RCA cables.

I can't see any reason (or way how) the trip comp would be reading the pre-outs for it's info signal. In fact, it's impossible. The only way that you wouldn't be able to use it is if the harness didn't account for the Info-wire, and that would be well, stupid.

Default hmm so all they would prob need to do is connect a wire back into the harness?

because the thing on one end was a plastic retangualar connector and the other end had 2 sets of RCA's

Default If the harness plugs into the same spot as the stock one, and the infowire truly is.......

supposed to connect in there, then there should be a wire coming out of the harness that connects to the pin that the stock one used to connect to.

If not, then the harness is a piece of ****. But your (apparnetly welfare :-P ) installer should ba able to just get a wire on that pin and connect it to the trip comp anyway. what do they pay installers at Wal Mart anyway? Want me to do it?
