Brake pad warning light Bypassed
Well if your like me you've had the stupid light on the dash forever and no one seems to know how to get rid of it. Well if shorting the wires to the brake pads didn't work which sometimes they don't.
I finally got around to beating mine tonight. Figures selling the car and finally do something about it.. Anyways..
You need to pull the cluster out. Not a big task but not one to rush. You do not have to get them all the way out you just need to get to the first harness closest to the drivers door.
Once you unplug that find the brown and green wire. Now you can fix this one of to ways. You can cut the wire then extend the side that goes to the gauges or you can just tap into the wire. At any rate all you have to do is run a ground to this wire and the problem is gone.
Took me about 20 mins. I hope this helps someone else out there. Now on the pre 2000's just get a vag com and beat it that way, much easier.
