Went to pepboys, asked how much it would be for them to install (i know how to, just dont have anything... so would have to buy equip)
Guy said 160 labor BUT he would not sell me pads from them. Pads come from dealer only. I said i wanted EBC... he said sorry, wont install anything but audi pads because people come back and complain that they squeal.
Is this true?
What do oem pads run anyways? (need all 4 wheels)

Sometimes they do squeal, it's the price you pay. And i bet they do get people complaining
who don't know better.
FWIW, they shouldn't really squeal if they are installed and bedded correctly.

A common misconception about these forums. . .
is that the people who hang out here routinely are just here to answer questions from the people who drop by here once in a blue moon. I suppose people who think that believe it's because other people should do their work for them, or because those who answer the questions just want to show off, or because those who answer questions want everyone to have a wonderful experience with a B5.
I know you don't believe any of those, but, all the same, if I were asking for free advice, I think I'd try not to insult anyone, no matter what I thought of them, until I was sure I'd never want any more advice about a B5 -- especially if I hadn't searched first.
