Default NO probably not

All things being equal, the 1.8T weighs about 175lbs less - should be easily faster in 0-60
1/4 mile etc. Depends on what chip/ tires etc etc of course.

Default depends....

The stock 2.8 30v does 0-60 in 7.0 or 7.1 seconds...right?
My A4 turbo Neuspeed .8 bar could take you, since I am recording 0-60 times in the 6.9 second range. But, I don't have a sunroof or Quattro....so my car is a lightweight 2994 pounds (I weighed it). A loaded quattro turbo will be around 300 pounds or more heavier, so you would be even with it i bet.
Now, i have seen people on this board with 1.0 bar chips get down in the mid 6 second range and sometimes lower.
Remember, the 2.8 engine weighs more than the 1.8t, so they have a weight advantage.
Christian J. Also, 1.8TQ has shorter gearing than 2.8Q

Default Not mine! (TAPII)

Said one anonymous 2.8 driver, "oh, those were your DTM tips pulling away from me on the straights" at ThunderHill.
Robbie
991.8Tqms, TAPII, Scorpion
Default When I went to the track..............

the chipped 1.8T's and the chipped 2.8's were (both pulling away from my non-chipped 1.8T) pretty even in the straight away.
Oscar
97.5 A4 1.8TQM

Default Turbo has a flatter torque curve/plateau so you're fully torqued at lower RPM...

with the weight advantage to the 1.8T, I'd say it'd take the stock 2.8. Not by much though.
Andrew
98.5 2.8qms
