Default Can tranny problem be water pump related?

Gents, my tranny started doing something strange recently. When, i'm at crawling speed (1st gear) like in stop and go traffic or driveway speed, the tranny starts to jerk slightly. Its almost as if its trying to shift and then decides not to, or is not quite sure what to do. which is strange since a shift is not required at that speed anyway. It doesnt happen at highway speeds. I,ve also noticed that it doesn't happen when the car is cool, like in the mornings. It tends to occur gradually as i'm driving and the car warms ups. It starts off bearly noticable and then becomes more pronouced the more i drive. By the time i get to work and am trying to park the car, the jerking becomes a bit harsh (but not clunking). I've checked and topped up the atf (tranny was recently re-filled anyway), but problem persist.

Now the water pump part. A friend of mine (drives an Accord) says he had a similar problem on his Honda, and it was finally traced to a faulty water pump. Seemed the faulty pump was dragging power from the engine. The engine subsequently was not supplying enough power to the tranny especially at driveway speeds and hence the jerking. My car has been overheating for over a month now (if i go above 60m/hr) so i'm thinking there might be some credence to his theory. What do you guys think?

Gents, i've also noticed some oil around the tail (output) flange of the transmission, where the tranny meets the driveshaft.

Pull codes, check fluid level in auto trans and all three diffs, post results. When was the last time the trans was serviced?

Interesting. How many miles on the car? When was the last time the fluid and filter were changed?

atf and filter were changed three weeks ago. My problem began about 4 days ago. Spoke with my mechanic today. He says the oil around the flange is not gear oil but grease from when the tranny was installed (its a second hand tranny, he installed it last november). Anyways he says the problem is most likely being caused by a faulty or weak ignition system, like weak coils, wires, or spark plugs. Any thoughts on this. Would like some opinions before i start spending money on these items. As for miles on the car, its a little over 200k. I've also noticed that the car has a slight shudder at highway speeds, as if the wheels were unbalanced, even though i had them balanced last week.

More discoveries. I have noticed that the shudder/light jerking is most apparent whenever i am taking a tight corner at slow speed, e.g when i am making a u-turn. Could it be a front axle or bearings issue?

Default Strange jerking/shudder

After further test drives and analysis, i have determined that the jerking is more like a clump and its coming from the rear half of the vehicle, not the front. It tends to happen most around 30 - 40 m/hr. It feels as if i'm driving over a series of very low speed bumps or those metal expansion strips they have on some briges. It also feels as if the rear wheels were slipping, I think i will need to check out the center differential and the drive shaft.
