Can you get a dark glossy finish on the exhaust by only using Mothers (or w-ever else) metal polish?

Well...I used Mother's and I got a glossy DARK finish...gonna get emory cloth though.

I've had my car for about 7 months; the tailpipes cleaned up quickly/easily with Mother's Mag. I'm guessing, but maybe a "dark" result comes from age and lack of interim cleaning? How long did you keep working at it? The label says use some, rub, then use some more, etc., and keep repeating until it's clean. Maybe you just didn't get it completely clean?<p>Rick

I have a 99.5 too...it got shiny,not chrome. By dark, I meant the black lines that are in the pipes.
