Canadian A4s with disabled DRLs: Do your headlight washers still work?
I'm thinking I got a double bonus when I disabled my DRLs. My headlight washers no longer operate. It's such a luxury to not have to fill your washer tank once a week I might change my tune this winter once the roads get dirty but for now it's much nicer. Also my car stays cleaner longer
Wondering if that's what has caused it, or if it's just a coincidence that it stopped working around the same time as the DRLs were disabled. I could plug the relays back in and figure it out, but I don't want to take the knee bolster off again just to check it and I don't have prima donna hands to fit in thru the fuse panel.

Did you kill your DRLs?
As for the washers, I like the concept, but I don't like the implementation. They are used too often, waste too much washer fluid, and dirty up the hood of my car.
If I don't get any replies I'll have to replace the relays to test this out. Then I'll let you know my findings; probably won't help you out much.

Where the heck do you drive...
that would require you to clean your windshield at night and therefore cause your headlight washers to pop up? Geez, you think that if you do it that often, you'd be able to spot the cops a mile away with your nice clean window and headlights. ;-)

Had a front end accident, changed my bumper, washers never worked after that.
BTW, if you don't hold on too long on the stalk when washing your windshield, the headlight washers won't be used.

Hmm?
Sometimes your windshield gets dirty. I know you don't realize this since you hide your car all winter to keep your paint all pretty but it does happen once in a while. This can happen day or night. So I am approximately equally likely to use the washers when I have my headlights on or off.
I just find that the headlight washers waste a lot of fluid; they use the same amount no matter if you tap the washer lever or hold it for five seconds. I tend to clean my windshield frequently but quickly, and that wastes a lot of fluid on the light washers. I used to turn off my lights at night when washing the windshield, but I can't really do that now with no DRLs so it worked out well for me that they are disabled along with the DRLs.
Why don't you go pull your DRL relays for me and let me know if I'm right?
