Default Werks of Art is only way to go.....

Juan can get you a lightweight flywheel as well.

Default I vote for Werks of Arts stage 2.

I just got one for my car this week, going to get it installed soon. It's the best clutch I've heard for A4. Mike is doing a group buy for $600.

Default Another option is Specpower. To give you an idea, they have a stage 2 for 399.00.

They also do lightened aluminum flywheels. I'm getting one.

http://www.specpwr.com/</a

Default Dave, how much for the flywheel?

They were working on one for the 1.8T when I was there, but it wasn't ready yet. I may hold off on my clutch install until I can get a flywheel to match.

Default I hope you have tested the pressure of that so called stock pressure plate

they sell you that is painted blue and silver. Look closer at the pics of the pressure plate and a picture of a stock pressure plate. You will notice the dimples at the base of the fingers. Also have Matt read the #'s off the one he bought from SPEC and he will see that it is just a stock part that puts down 1500-1700 lbs max. We had someone call us up that also bought the spec and had it measured and it showed exactly the same thing a stock pressure plate tested at. I am suprised you guys dont see that a stock clutch cost over $300 so how can a upgraded clutch claimed to have 2300 lbs of pressure only cost $100 more when you must replace the diaphram with one that has more pressure.

Default I asked Specpower about what you said . They said you were wrong. They said they use the stock cover

to ensure OEM fit. They also said they would be happy to have anyone test their products. I know you are proud of your products and your affiliations but I'd like to say something about the way you come across. Anytime I see one compant attack another,I always get very leary of the company doing the attacking. Makes me wonder what they have to hide.I know I'm not the only one that feels like this. It also makes me not want to patronize or promote that company. If you have the goods, your products and service will do all the talikng needed and you will not have to attack or defend yourself. The clutch you sell (the one I tried) was very, very nice. But lets be reasonable. You know y'all are not the only ones that are able to make(have made) a good product.I know nothing about the Spec unit other 'n the race cars that are using them and what was said to me. I'm willing to try it out(my car will not be the definitive test of said unit.) I'm not pushing the unit, just provided an alternative to the original poster.I will look around,I'm sure I know someone that will know who has the set-up to test the pressure plate. If it's not too big a deal,I'll have it checked out. As a company you need to be prepared for a product that is as good if not better to arrive and undercut yours,it will happen.
