CEL help please...weird code

I was driving along and then the revs started jumping up and down doing their own thing. When I was in gear, the car would accelerate a little with my foot off the throttle. When I came to a stop, the revs were pulsing between 1K and 2K rpm. Here's what the VAG just told me:

Component and/or Version: 2,8l V6/2V MPI OBD2 D03
2 Faults Found:
17912 - Intake Air System: Leak Detected
P1504 - 95-00 - Unknown Error Elaboration
18014 - Rough Road/Engine Torque Signal from ABS: Electrical Malfunction
P1606 - 71-00 - Cylinder 4

I can understand the first one...there must be a small leak after the MAF, but I've never seen the second one. Any BTDT?

How the battery?

Everytime I have had weird apparently unrelated codes it seems to be due to low voltage.Check the vacuum lines around the MAF, plenum and Throttle Body in addition to cleaning the ICV (see post above)

Ok, the second code is an ECU malfunction...

refer to the Bentely DTC code page. It includes ECU as the electrical malfunction for your specific code.

yeah, first thing i thougth was ICV/ISV....

but it wouldn't stall or go below idle, it would jump around between 1K and 2K with my foot off of the throttle. And when I let go of the throttle and clutched in at 3K to stop, the RPMs lingered there for a second, then bounced down.
I'll clean out the ISV and replace some vac lines tomorrow and see what happens. Still doesn't explain the ECU malfunction code that JA4T mentioned...

That second code can have something to do with the IVC/ISV.

I bet it is indeed the ICV/ISV. I hope it is not your ignition coil, those are about $250 and probably more at the dealer. You have a 1997 A4 2.8 V6, right? The code reads as: Rough Road Spec Engine Torque ABS-ECU Electrical Malfunction. You generally start with the spark plugs and work your way up to the other parts mentioned to diagnose that problem. I doubt it is an actual ECU problem. Check that plug in Cylinder 4, it is the one of the 6 that is giving the misfire code.
