When I use my AC (set internal temp lower than outside), cold air blasts are directed from all the vents (central three , left and right panel vents), however if I increase the internal temperature setting, I get hot air from the left and right panel vents, but the central 3 vents do not seem to blow any air at all. Any particular reason for this?

unless you specifically set it to come out the center vents by pressing the middle button.

When you're hot, you like cold air on your face to cool you off, right? And when you're cold you'd like it to concentrate more on your feet and the windshield to get you warm faster. You can always make it come out above by pressing the middle button.

I almost wish I could transfer the "dumb" Climate control from my '90 jetta into the a4!

I never use Auto, and the damn thing still pisses me off....

Like when its sub-zero out...and you dont care "what" temperature is coming out of the vents, as long as its warmer than -5 deg F. If you set the temp to "hi" or in my case "as hot as it goes" the "control" purposely keeps the blower low until the engine temp gets up there...waaay up there...by that time I'd be frozen without me manually overriding it...

I know exactly what your talking about no mater how hot the temp is set at, or how high the fan setting is it barely comes out the middle 3 vents in my car and it blasts out the side vents. My left hand gets really hot and my right hand is freezing. It also does not matter if you have just the middle button on the climate control pressed? Correct? Those others guys must not understand what your talking about. I contacted Shaumburg Audi in Illinois about this but they would not even give me a straight answer about the problem. I bought my car there, and because im 18 they treat me like ****, I would suggest never going tp that dealer!

Mike, you're absolutely right on! This is exactly the case. Although the explanation provided makes some sense, it's pretty smart climate control, way too smart for our liking. Anyway, will try presing the middle buton and see the difference.
