cheap yes, but it looks limited, what can't I do with this?

It can do everything the standard vag can, once you register the software.

By then it costs almost as much as paying full price for Uwe's setup.

Default Get the software from UWE..the cable...you could make it yourself

I don't see what the "problem" is with buying it from mike@obdtool

this is NOT like the AWE DTS saga...

Default I agree. Just saying that OBDTool isn't much better of a deal..

Although when I bought mine the hardware was much better than what Uwe was including in his kits.

Default There are some fully functional beta versions of VAG-COM floating around on the internet.

I think they are some of the first releases so they are quite old. It doesn't have some of the new features (not sure) but it does what I need.

Oh ya, it was a free release.

Believe me you can find it if you search hard enough.
