Is the Secondary Air Injector Pump covered under the bumper to bumper warranty? I'm asking because mine is howling like crazy during cold start-ups. Taking it in to the dealer in a few days and I want to know if I'm going to have to come out of my pocket for this. One person on this forum said it wasn't covered and to expect to pay about $650 to replace it! Audi is smokin to much &%#@ if this is true!!!

What does it sound like?????? - Should I be worried?
My warranty/speedo just rolled over the magic 50kk mark today. It's a good thing I made the appointment last week and mentioned the sound I am having...
I have always had a soft groan from the center of the dash (in engine bay) when starting cold. It only lasts to the end of the driveway.
But this month I having been hearing a load groan/moan sound coming from behind the steering wheel (in the engine bay) when I gently start up from a stop (when I'm following a slow driver).
Is this what you think is the pump? Does anyone else think I should worry?

If the part is somewhere in between the two bumpers...then yes it's covered ;-)

It comes from the right side of the engine bay and it sounds like a high-pitched whistling or howling for about 25 sec, then the pump cuts off and the noise stops. I have a 98.5 2.8...what about you?
