It is common knowledge in the S4 forum (where I usually am obviously as an S4 owner) that chipping an S4 makes a world of difference even at "stage 1." Its like driving a different car.

But what says the Audi A4 1.8T crowd? With only one turbo is the difference worth the $500? Does it make for an entirely different car?

My girl wants a BDAy present, and she is either getting a upgraded stereo or the APR chip!

Told you it was an easy one. 2001.5 Stage 1 APR chip BTW, 91 octane only!

chip for sure then. a chip will put the 1.8t a lot closer to an S4 than a stereo will

Those are claimed chipped HP and TQ numbers.

I didnt even feel my turbo until I chipped (probably the longer gears, but still)


I laugh at stock A4's that try to play.

My wife did not like driving in any way, shape or form...and always use to just drive behind every one else, never take over etc...

Than I got her and A4 (2001) and APR chip, now she goes into the passing lane, takes the lane that ends after the light....and when she gets home I get comments like

"the trafic was light, I got to tubo today !"
"I had to merge and there was a spot way up ..."

she will love it !
