I've searched the forums and read the posts but I havnt been able to find the answer to my question(most post just state that the cp broke and car was towed away). My car is at dealer having the cam chain tensioner replaced to resolve ticking whenever I start the car when its already warmed up, and also having the rear window replaced to fix my radio reception problem, and since its there they are replaceing all 4 of my cp's. My question is do the new cp's make the engine run any smoother, or does it just make it so they dont fail on me? Basically I'm just wondering if i will see an improvement in smoothness. I've only had the car a month and havent driven another a4 before so I cant compare. I apologize in advance if this makes no sense, I'm new to the Audi scene and trying hard to learn.

I had mine replaced, it feels like it idles smoother and starts less rough, but I think it's just because I like thinking that the things I change are actually doing something.

Heh, yeah i hear ya on that, car is 01 a41.8tq and still under warrenty so its all free, but its been there since tuesday and might not be ready till monday Grrrr, just getting anxious, at least the dealer gave me a free b6 as a loaner, but it's just not the same car!
