Depends on the year...
You'll need the Symphony head unit and Climate controls plus the inner frame to which they attach. (You'll also need the ashtray if you are planning on using one).
If your car is a 1999.5 on it should be plug and play since the Wiring on these cars is updated.
I believe you may have to cut wires for the radio harness to fit if its earlier than 99.5
I am thinking of doing the same conversion but I may just check the salvage yards for a complete center dash as it would be easier than piecing it together.
Alternatively you could use your existing climate control but you would have to build your own mounting brackets and front facia to support the double din size of the symphony unit and the relocation of the Climate Control

Re: Concert to Symphony retrofit questions ??
I also have an 98.5 which I just purchased. After owning a few Porsches the 4DR A6 appealled to my wife and me. I have retrofitted a lot of "stuff" in various cars and I want to retrofit the concert to symphony. Any links on anyone doing it out there, or what exactly it would take? Is it worth doing, or should we just drive for awhile, enjoy, and then trade in for a newer model. PS... ABSOLUTELY in love with our new addition, the A6.
