Removing the climate control head unit - how?
I am about to tackle the installation of a CK3000 Parrot bluetooth kit and, wanting to keep everything in my car with the stock look (i.e. no visible modifications) I am thinking of ways to "hide" the little headunit with the thumbwheel and the two buttons. The best solution that I have come up with is to place it in the ashtray compartment (it will fit) so that I can open it only when needed, but otherwise it will remain out of sight.
Being the inexperienced mechanic that I am, I am not even so sure how I can go about sliding out the HVAC control unit under the radio (yes, I can remove the radio!). I believe, in fact, that taking that unit out will allow me to route the CK3000 to the ashtray area while being able to hide the connecting wire. My question is then: how does the climate control head unit come out? Perhaps all that is needed is to push it out once the radio is removed by applying pressure on the back of it? Any other suggestions?
By the way, if you are interested in installing the same Parrot unit, you should definitely read this excellent tech article found in the "Reference" section of this forum.

Here's the link.
