Default Confirmation... its the turbo
this is my conversation with my mechanic:
him: Hey jason, it's Craig... can you get a ride down here? There's something you have to see!!
me: um... what's that?
him: Figured out your problem. It's the turbo... 1/4" of play on the shaft. That whooshing sound you heard was most likely the blades rubbing against the inside of the housing. You really have to take a look at this.

Needless to say, I'm happy that I know what the problem is... but I was really praying for a torn hose or something simple/cheap. Oh well

Default Another option if you are strapped for cash .. buy a used K03 from one of the guys who've gone K04,
or stage 3. You can usually find one that is in good shape for 250-300$ ...
