Confused on timing belt maintenance intervals. Is it the sooner of 60K miles or 5 yrs? I've got
50K miles on a 98.5 that was delivered in Sept '98 so I'm thinking it may be time to change even though I won't hit 60K miles until probably next spring. Can't find any mention of the five years in the owners manual but a Search here mentioned it. Dealer's attitude was that if you're worried, change it. BTW, it's been chipped and K04's since around 25K miles.

Second on chip! Mine is a 96, the milage is only 60K per now. If i had followed (m)
the vehicle maintenance recomendation to change it at 90K, under my current milage per year condition, i am going to have the tbelt job done in mmmmhh around year of 2007.
Does it sounds right? I dont know..
But for a piece of mind, i change it last month
