Dead Tranny in my new A4
Just thought I would vent or grieve to fellow A4 owners. My 3 month old 2001 A4 needs a new transmission! I have been without my car for almost two weeks now and I am going through withdrawl... The dealer put me up in a 2000 Jetta, but it is not nearly as fun to drive.
I've got about 1500 miles on my car! About a month ago I noticed that my gears were slipping when I was accelerating from a dead stop. So, I brought it into the dealership and had them take a look at. Turns out that the pump in the transmission wasn't working so all the fluid was just sitting in there and burning up! Apparently the part was defective from the factory. Now I am waiting for a new transmission to arrive from Geremany.
This is my first Audi and I worry that I may encounter future problems. Anyone have any input?

All cars have problems. Audi doesn't have any special mystical powers that would prevent this.
Thats why you have a warranty. I wouldn't worry about. You'll get a new tranny and be back on the road soon. You want something to worry about? Ask how much that trans would cost you if it was not under warranty and think about what would happen down the road if this occured when you are out of warranty. Gives me shivers.
