Default Dealer says Stage One okay, go ahead and chip it.

Can I believe this? They said they looked it up on Audi's website and it's okay ... won't void warranty. Service Mgr. agreed. They recommended APR or GIAC.

Will this tie me to these guys? I bought the car from them, but they're 30 mis. from home and 65 mis. from work. There is a new dealer opening just a few miles from work in the fall and I'd like to bring my car there for service while under warranty. I'm still planning on switching to the local guys - No. European Auto in Concord, NH when warranty runs out - they did my suspension upgrade and treated me extremely well.

I don't want to have a problem at the new dealer service dept. when they discover it's chipped.

TIA for any info.

Default my suggestion...

be honest with the new dealership. tell them you are chipped and ask if it will be a problem.

Default Perhaps you should get them to sign something...

That way if they bull**** you you can pull out the peice of paper and there ya go. If they refuse to sign it... then not much you can do.

Default Get it in writing from the dealer that they said it's ok. Then you'll have legal proof if (m)

they turn their backs on you.

Default bahaha. Get him to give you the URL or site location (and yes, it's an extranet address)

and I'll see it for myself.

Basically they're full of crap, and wanna have YOU pay them, not AoA. AoA sets the max that a repair can cost, vs telling YOU what it'll cost.

Default one in santa monica said dont worry about chipping, we are not out to get you.

Its right around santa monica bl. and westwood bl.

I had some service done and asked about chipping. They said they didnt care as long as no harm comes to the engine from having the chip.

Really nice people there, i can find my paperwork and get the name of the guy i talked to if you want.
