Default Display Panel in my 2000 A4 is Breaking/Developing Lines?

The display panel (behind my steering wheel) on my A4 is starting to warp and get lines through it... what can be done about this?? How do I fix this? Why is this happening? I'm so annoyed right now... it wasn't like this before and just recently started happening. First there was one line that went through how many miles I could drive, and now there are several (like 4 or 5). When I first got my Audi, I was looking at several Audis of my year and noticed that some of them had very advanced stages of the same warping, so I know it will only get worse.

Default welcome to the cluster pox club, a quick search will show the only

thing you can do is buy a used one or new one and replace. Or just shut it off like I do.

Default Buy a new one, or buy a used one.

Either way it's $$$$ and it's simply easier to just live with it or turn it off as Casablanca said I've got the same thing happening, it comes and goes. Just have bigger money priorities than the silly display

I don't really know how to search or do anything like that, it's a miracle I was able to post this question in the right section!! Anyways would I be able to buy a used/new one from any model or just 2000? Do they have cooler ones than just the standard black & red or am I just going to have to keep replacing them when they break again (cause its my understanding that this is a common problem).

Default Red and Black is the only color option that I am aware of, I believe you can

replace from any model but I am not 100% on that one. They will fail at some point so you would have to replace again that is why I just shut mine off because for the price I'd rather get other parts for my cars.

Default I am still debating on whether to try bba-reman as a replacement ....

as an alternative to the ~$900-$1000 quote from the dealer.

But, with just a 2 year warranty, I am guessing bba-reman knows it will simply happen again.

Mine gets worse in the summer and is much less noticeable in the winter.
