Default Do Supercharges need a cool down time after a spirited drive?

I know that turbos do, but I wasn't sure about superchargers.<p>Future Audi A4 Owner

Default No. Turbo heat is from spinning at 100,000 rpm and exhaust.

Superchargers run off of the crank. Turn MUCH slower, and aren't exposed to combustion chamber temperatures.

Default I do because...

at the track my oil temp gets hotter than normal. Driving around town not a problem though. But at the track i let the car run until it's cooled down again.

Default They also get hot because compressed gas heats...

in this case air. Most superchargers also run less boost, so the compression heating isn't as high.

Default It's the exhaust heat on the turbo bearing that needs to cool down. No problem

with superchargers other than like Rob said if you are running at a track you want your engine to cool down some.
