Default lol good luck!

You won't get that one out very easily. but yes, you have to whack it out.

Default Once you get the nut off, take a hammer and punch, and push it out.

If it doesn't move, hose it down with PB Blaster, and come back in an hour (rust has taken hold of it). Without the rust, it should come out very easily...it's not threaded in there.

Default that bolt aint ****....

tap the control arms a bit to dislodge the built up crap in the pin. then just punch that bolt allthe way thru...sometimes you can wiggle it out, sometimes you gotta beat it...i mean givie it a good flogging

Default which is why i cahnged the suspension without removing that bolt there

you can remove the suspension bolts, and swaybar bolt then have someone push the lower control arm down with a crowbar. You can then maneuver the front suspension out.

Default I had problems with this same bolt. I could never get it out...

I took it to a shop that works on Audis and suspensions and they had to heat the bolt up to get it out. Sometimes it is just to carroded (sp?) to get out. Good luck. I'll never mess with my own suspension again.

Default On some cars it will come out easily but on some it is stuck

do not beat on the end of it with a metal hammer as you will destroy the threads.
Try widening the slits with a screwdriver. This might align the hole to the point where the bolt will come out.

Default Once you get it out, put some anti-seize compound on it so its easier to remove next time.

Goes for the upper control arm "pegs", too.

I had to beat the hell out of it to get it out on my A4. All the previous responses were good suggestions.

Default

The Bentley specifically says to not widen the slits with a screwdriver.

Default Don't pry the joints open with a screwdriver!

You're better off punching the bolt out, and replacing it. You won't destroy any threads...the only threads that matter are on the end of the bolt where the nut attaches. The rest of that bolt is smooth (except for the rust).
