Does YOUR A4 1.8t give you problems??
I am going to buy an A4 1.8t manual very very soon. Ive heard varous things about thing car, ranging from "it was a great car" to "im glad i got rid of it".
I am planning on getting a 2001 model.
Can anyone give me any feedback about thier car, regardless of year. I want to know whether it is ia troublefree car, or would be soon becoming friends with the dealership service center.

Get it - no hesitation.
Remember, those that frequent this site are pickier than the average person. Yes, earlier models may have been more problematic. But damn...on the 2001 you get a 4 year, 50k mile 'all service included' warranty.
The car is rock solid.
I bought a dealer loaner car -w- 3,500 miles and it has been flawless so far. (1,000 miles)
I have found that much of your A4 impressions come from what you drove in the past.

It depends on what you consider a problem. If your **** retentive, like me, then little rattles and stuff bother the heck out of you. Other than little rattles, I haven't had any problems. I am very happy with the purchase. Oh yeah, get quattro. It is cool.

Driving another car would have you in a straight jacket. I get in my roommates Saturn and the thing rattles, creaks, and sounds like a wind tunnel.
Though my friend's 97 328i isn't as bad as the saturn, this car will make you appreciate build quality which will keep you from buying lesser quality builds in the future.
IMHO, as always, and YMMV!

I am warning you, if you stay on this board for any period of time, you WILL become obsessed with the car, and the mod bug will get you. It started inoccently enough for me. Just a chip, and I had a gift certificate, so it was only 200 dollars. Once I got that, it was all over for me. Just a word of warning =) Oh, and get Quattro! Thats what these cars are famous for, and in the rain, snow, and in the corners, you'll love it, trust me. If you live anywhere where you get anything other than sunshine, don't hesitate. There are 3 Audis in my family, all Quattros. Oh, and one more thing. PLEASE DONT GET SILVER! They make these cars in a myriad of cool colors, but no one gets them!
