drivetrain problems.

I was wondering if anyone knows what my problem might be. My dealer wont take me seriously. When in 1st 2nd or 3rd. in motion when stepping on or releasing the throttle there is a surge in my drivetrain. sort of torques up in either situation. I thought maybe it was a differential. but I don't know. any thoughts? please help. I have a warranty for only a few thousand more miles. I have a 97 a4 2.8Q with 79000 miles.
