Default f*ucking stealership!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dropped my car off last night at the dealership and it needed simple service, and i wrote of a small vibration when i braked, all the sudden my dad calls me this morning and says audi replaced all my brakes and its $800. I know im not hard on my brakes at all...anyone think that the dealership could be pulling a fast one..

Default Thats BS. You are supposed to be notified before any service like that is performed.

Call and talk with the manager.

Default no, that's the problem with dealers. they don't know how to 'fix', they only know how to replace...

parts. there is a BIG difference.

Default Agreed -- they are not supposed to tack on a $800 bill without your approval. Especially if there

was a lower estimate written down on your order form. If you did NOT ask them to replace your brakes, they replaced items without your approval, and are --illegally-- charging you for it. You can have them put the brakes back to the way they were when you brought them in!
If they won't budge, make sure that AOA knows about your situation. It's one thing if they replace an air filter on you, but a $800 brake job...

[edit -- I hope it wasn't your dad that authorized the replacement!]

Default Unless your dad authorized the service, then you can tell them to return the car to it's original

state. It's cheaper for them to give you a discount then to return it to its original state. They CANNOT do unauthorized work considering you might not have the funds to actaully pay for it.

Default Utter ripoff

Figure 2 hours labour (less if you're an experienced mechanic) + parts. You're paying almost double what you should be paying for that.

They quoted me $1000 for new pads and rotors all around. I promptly told them not to do it.
