Default Factory Alarm System

Need some help - the alarm system on my '98 Avant is for some reason failed not arming itself. The doors lock, and windows close but I dont get the turnsignal light flash and the horn honk.

Any help will be apreciated.

Default Does the LED by the drivers door lock thing blink?

I believe it is possible to disable the flash and horn.

Get a VAG-COM and check for fault codes/coding of the module.

Will VAG for fault codes. My car does'nt have flashing LED or any other indicator that the alarm has been armed besides the horn honk and the flash of turn signals.

I'm pretty sure the LED is standard on all B5's.
