Default FMIC Question Non DBW - Please Help

Considering a custom FMIC. My car is non DBW.

Do I need new software?

Default you dont NEED software for it to work if thats what u mean.

Obviously it will be more efficent with the software but it will work without it.

Will my car run as smooth as it does now with a FMIC tho?

Default Typically .. yes. Most setups just adapt to a FMIC without any program changes. I understand

GIAC has sometimes taken advantage of the presence of a FMIC (notably a chip for the T28 w/ FMIC and a K04 with FMIC chip) to advance the timing a bit more in anticpation of cooler IATs.
Your car should just keep more of the timing set by the current chip as IATs won't rise as far .. less timing pull back due to high IATs.
