Default Re: front track vs quattro...

I most definitely bought the Audi because I liked the way it drives, but I got a fronttrack version rather than quattro. Part of that is because I didn't know better, but the front wheel drive still handles well, and is fun to drive.

Default Re: fron-trac is lighter, less driveline loss, and faster...

oh no...here come the quattro police who will say that an Audi without quattro is bunk....well I have front-trac and having driven an 02 quattro tip..I must say i like my front-trac better...just think what a stage III front-trac would do.. hmmm...

Default 02 A4 Tip?!?

That's not a good comparison (unless you own an 02 tip front-trac)

Yep, front-trac is lighter, less driveline loss.. but if you go stage 3, you'll have a tough time getting traction.. so for high power mods, quattro owns.

You forgot to mention that front-trac saves your clutch.. just eats tires faster.

Default it may not be quattro...

but this is the best handling FWD car i've driven. I love my FT. I live in Florida (land of straight roads) where the weather is perfect 90% of the year. Most of my miles are made going to and back from work too. So there is no immediate need for Quattro. Yes, it is very very nice. I love driving a Q car...but honestly, I'm not in too many situations where it would make a difference (except lower gas mileage and more powertrain loss).

Default "just eats tires faster."

My Quattro friends go through tires more than I do, just for reference.

Default 2x4...Getta Jetta

If you don't want quattro...why not just buy a Jetta?

Who would want a Jetta over ANY A4? Not me.

Default OK.. I stand corrected. :-)

It was just theory after all ;-)

Either that or your quattro friends drive more nuts than you ;-) (I'm kinda doubting this)
