Default Rob, that might not be the best choice of wire for the job

from what I can see they were using a special type of wire which is very flexible. In electroacoustics we call it tinsel lead, it's the same stuff that's used on loudspeakers to connect the voice coil leads from the cone coil interface to the connectors. Obviously you could appreciate how quickly something would fail of fatigue stress in a loudspeaker if conventional litz (stranded) wire were used. I believe from what I've seen in your picture that Audi also used a tinsel lead on that armature to try to hold off fatigue failure for as long as possible, while also allowing an electrical connection which doesn't impede the motion of the armature...sure the connection is at the fulcrum, but still I would think tinsel lead would be better...though they may use a special chemically resistant type.

Anyhow good effort...just figured I'd interject about that one detail.

Regards,

James R.

Default Yeah...I thought of that...

at the time dont have time to dig up any other kind of wire. I'll see how long mine holds it. Worst case scenario new wire needed in anohter 50 K
