H&R's are the most popular here. But I love my KW variant 1's!

Default I have the H&R S4 Coilovers

I like them very much. They are a little harsh on highway rebound, but otherwise spectacular around town and in hard cornering. H&R recommended this set up for me and I suggest if you choose HR to talk to them and AWE about this setup.

Default Funny, I would say the same thing about the KW V2's!

Default But you can adjust the dampening of the KW V2s

So you should be able to make them "less harsh."

I have never seen these on a car, so I am going on marketing literature (websites).

Default That's not necessarily a good thing (explanation)

I had mine dialed in at 1.25 turns (2 turns of total adjustment). Turns out that this was too soft, and I was getting bounce. I ended up going to 1.75 turns to eliminate the bounce, so effectively, I've got a 1/4 turn of adjustment left if I want it even stiffer.

Adjustments can only be made once the shocks and springs are disassembled. It can be a pandora's box.

I'm not sure how vehicle weight and spring rates play into all of this. The KW's use the same spring that is used in the S4 and A6. I have a 1.8T. It is possible that you may have more range of adjustment on the S4, I don't know.
