I'm wondering if this is a case of "you get what you pay for"... and i shouldn't cheap out... I've got a 2000 A4 1.8TQMS.<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8053395742&ssp agename=ADME%3AB%3AAAQ%3AUS%3A1">Ebay short shifter</a></li></ul>

You know, it would have taken an extra second to just...
add smth useful to your post by also saying "yes, it's worth getting" or "no, it's a POS", since you seem to know so much about it.
I don't know why people bother posting when they don't want to actually contribute an answer...

because this has already been addressed numerous times on this forum...
I don't know why people don't bother searching when it takes even less words to complete a search than it does to post a new thread...

You're right that I didn't bother searching, but i still don't understand why someone
would make the effort to reply to a post with a bunch of words, if they're not going to give the answer to the question that was posted. That would have taken less effort in fact (and have been more helpful to someone who's obviously not in the know). Just ignore the post if it bugs you that much and you don't want to reply.
I'm not saying to write a one page writeup when it's been repeated lots before, a search is more appropriate in those circumstances. But when a simple answer helps someone out, i don't get it why ppl go out of their way just to point out the poster should have searched.
