Default Has anyone here tried or heard of a tip conversion?

Has anyone uccessfuly upgraded a '97 Auto A4 to tiptronic or heard if it is possible? I am told that the '97 A8's were pre wired for tiptronic, does this hold true for the 97 A4's as well? Has anyone seen a conversion kit or anything for sale? I would be able to respect myself way more if I at least had a car with tip. I never thought that I'd be one of 'those people' (who drive automatics)but I inherited the car, beggars can't be choosers!

Default i think you'd be better off selling the car and buying a 5 speed

it would involve a WHOLE lot to swap trannies. i bet you could get yourself into a 5 speed probably at cost

You don't need a new tranny, I've heard that you just swap shift modules, ECU etc
