have an s4 just ordered 1.8t avant dolphin sports
didn't chip my s4 cause the turbos always blow.Whats the deal with 1.8t's is it the same or are they safer to chip?

Very high reliability with the 1.8T's on the B5 chassis (m)
and not nearly the wallet burning risks associated with the S4 turbos. On a B5 1.8T, you can have your dealer replace the turbo for under $2K. If you bring it to a private mechanic, and buy a rebuilt turbo, you're probably looking at less than $1K.
Regardless, I wouldn't let that stop you from chipping a 1.8T...even if there isn't sufficient evidence about the B6 1.8T engines.
