Default they are much faster than a 1.8t but should be pretty comparable with the s4..

my boy had one that went mid to high 13's all day at the track with exhaust and boost controller.

I know that stock 1.8t can't compare but what about 1.8t with T28 turbo kit?

A stock Stealth should be a good run with a T-28. A nicely modified Stealth there is no chance.

Default i disagree- a T28 1.8T would hand a Stealth its *** on a platter.

The Stealth /3000GT VR4 ran around low-14's (about 5.9-6.0 0-60mph) in stock form. A properly running T28 could shave a full second off that ET. I actually recently read articles about both those DSM cars, and will scan and post for those interested.

Default for comparison, times for 300Z TT...

1992 300ZX twin turbo ran a pathetic 15-flat quarter (high 6's 0-60) with a very similar, 300hp TT V6 (but without AWD, and only slightly greater weight). These figures and my previous post about Stealth come from 1991 Road & Track mags.

Default Yep...they're pretty damn fast...

my roomate has a VR4 that runs 12s, but stock they are still pretty quick...

Actually, they ran ~13.5 stock on the 2nd gen models. The quarter mile time was slightly higher on the first gen models. One guy had a factory freak and ran 13 flat stock. I've had two. Don't take this as me trashing your rides, either. They've very nice I'm lookin at picking up an A4 or S4 in addition to my vr4.

Oh, and the Stealth and 3000GT are not under the DSM platform . You're thiking Talon/Eclipse/Laser.

Default i believe it...

given their power/weight ratio, i dont doubt the second-gen cars finally got the performance they deserved. But first gen, and the Z TT (during its ENTIRE run) were NOT very fast in stock form. But there's nothing like twin turbos and three liters to give great potential when properly tuned.

The 2nd gen was lighter and had better gearing for acceleration (6spd). Though, mitsubishi engineers were stupid and put way too many overdrives on the car (can we say 4th, 5th, 6th.. :-P).

The 5 speeds didn't accelerate as quickly, but when you you get into high horsepower range the 5spd comes in hand and will net better times - one less shift before you have to go across the traps.

Everytime I ride i my roommate's chipped A4 I want to go pick up one of these to drive around =).
