My wife, in what I would like to consider a momentary lapse, left one of those double mocha lattes on the center console. When she pulled away from a stop light it spilled all over. Now that would be bad enough, but with the 2000 2.8 that also means that whatever spills travels down to and behind the ashtray where it is impossible to reach. Now the ashtray won't open and the climate buttons are sticking. Has anyone experienced a similar occurence? Does someone know how to remove the ashtray?
In my wife's defense, it does seem like a particularly bad design. To make room for the 2000 radio they had to cram the ashtray right against the console making that area not just difficult to clean but also a practically useless space.

Take out the radio and pull the trim off, and spend a while meticulously cleaning it all off. I haven't done this nor do i know how easy it is in a MY2K.
